For 75 years, the WPUV Recordings of James Covey and his Virginia Partners of Pulaski, VA resided on six aluminum-based vinyl records that were buried in family storage before recently being discovered and transferred to MP3 files! These recordings were then taken into a professional studio for crackling sound (from needle to the original vinyl record during transfer To MP3) reduction and overall mastering. The result is ”James Covey and His Virginia Partners - The WPUV Recordings - 1948!” Originally recorded on April 24, 1948 as handwritten on one of the original records, the album of 17 tracks consists mostly of cover songs written by popular bluegrass and country artists (Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Hank Williams, etc.) of the day.
